Harsher Penalties for Killing Law Enforcement Officers

WHO:    SHERIFF LEE BACA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT; CONGRESSMAN DAVID DREIER; STEVE IPSEN, PRESIDENT, ASSOCIATION OF DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEYS; AND FAMILY MEMBERS OF FALLEN DEPUTY DAVID MARCH.

WHAT:    SHERIFF BACA WILL SPEAK ABOUT PROPOSED LEGISLATION AIMED TO GIVE HARSHER LEGAL SENTENCES TO CONVICTED COP KILLERS.  CONGRESSMAN DAVID DREIR IS SPONSORING THE BILL, WHICH WOULD IMPOSE INCREASED CRIMINAL PENALTIES TO THOSE CONVICTED OF KILLING A PEACE OFFICER AND ADDITIONAL PENALTIES IF THEY FLEE THE COUNTRY.
