Shooting Death Investigation

SHERIFF’S HOMICIDE DETECTIVES ARE CONTINUING THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE SHOOTING DEATH OF A MAN  WHICH OCCURRED AT THE  INTERSECTION OF NORMANDIE AVENUE AND 111TH STREET, VERMONT, AT APPROXIMATELY 8:45 PM ON MARCH 7, 2007

DETECTIVES LEARNED THAT THE VICTIM WAS PREPARING TO WALK ACROSS THE INTERSECTION WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND WHEN HE WAS APPROACHED BY A MALE HISPANIC ADULT.  AFTER AN EXCHANGE OF WORDS, THE SUSPECT SHOT THE VICTIM IN THE UPPER TORSO.  THE SUSPECT THEN FLED THE LOCATION NORTHBOUND ON NORMANDIE AVENUE OUT OF SIGHT.

THE VICTIM WAS TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD.  THE VICTIM’S GIRLFRIEND WAS NOT INJURED DURING THE ATTACK.

THERE ARE NO FURTHER DETAILS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
